Not too long ago I passed a church yard with a large sign that read, “Jesus has fun here”. That pricked my heart, and I’ve felt a journal entry brewing since seeing that sign.
We’ve become so “mainstream” and “politically correct” that I’m afraid we’ve lost the true meaning of Jesus and His message. No where in the Bible do I find that Jesus came to “have fun”. No where have I read that He came to jump up and down in “worship”. I’ve not found where He conformed Himself to look and act like this world (Be ye not conformed to this world-Romans 12:2-but rather come out from among them and be ye separate-2 Cor. 6:17).
The same Jesus that healed the sick, raised the dead, wept with compassion, and saved the lost also had righteous anger. John 2:15-And when He (Jesus) had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them ALL out of the temple-(emphasis mine). Even in His love and compassion, He did not “tolerate” sin. If it isn’t right, it’s wrong. If it’s blue, it isn’t red. If it’s male with male (female with female) it’s an ABOMINATION unto God-- Romans 1:26-for even the women did change that which is against nature: 27: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned IN THEIR LUST one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly. Lev. 18:22-Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is abomination. If it says “You have a choice”, it’s a lie…you don’t. You were bought with a price, a costly price, the very life of Jesus Christ. You are not your own and don’t let people tell you otherwise. If you do, then you’ve fallen for the Tolerance Lie which is sweeping the world. 1 Cor. 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in you body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Cor. 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. Jesus came with love and compassion, but He never came to TOLERATE.
We are to share Christ’s love for others and show them the “Way, the Truth, and the Life” John 14:6. There’s no “alternative lifestyle”. You either accept Christ as your Lord and Savior dying to self daily (Romans 12:1-present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your REASONABLE service), or you suffer eternity in Hell. Rev. 20:12-And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and the book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Rev. 20:15-And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. That’s plain and straight forwarded but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise (1 Cor. 1:27).
If God said, Thou shalt not kill, then that means abortion is murder. Again, you are not your own (if you’re a true follower of Christ). It isn’t your body, and you don’t have a choice. If you were caught making a mistake, don’t let the world tell you that you can wipe that mistake away by having an abortion. Let me clarify that the mistake was s** outside of marriage, not the resultant conception. 1 Cor. 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither FORNICATORS (those having s** outside of marriage), nor idolators, nor adulterers (also having *** outside of your marriage partner), nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. Maybe God in His wisdom has closed the wombs of some women so that they can take in these precious children. He knows that we are human and fall to sin. He knows that babies will be conceived and He’s made a way for these little ones to have a home and loving family. When abortion comes on the scene, touted as a choice, a freedom, or a right, these precious babies die a torturous death and these couples remain saddened and childless.
I shutter to think that I might have to stand before God one day with the blood of these innocent babies on MY hands. I vote, I help elect officials, I live in this country. (Though I did not vote for Obama as it’s probably well “noticeable” by now if you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time.) When a person obtains office and legalizes the killing of babies, does that make me just as guilty?? When taxpayer money is used to fund organizations such as Planned Parenthood, that’s MY money going to fund sadistic teachings and abortions. But praise be unto the Lord, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36). There is now therefore no condemnation to those that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1).
Back to the original issue, was Jesus having fun when He wept over the grave of Lazarus? Was He having fun casting out demons? Was He having fun looking at all of the lepers that had been cast out of the city, sick, lonely, and hurting? Wait, maybe it was while He was praying and his sweat was as great drops of blood falling down to the ground (Luke 22:44). Well, it couldn’t have been then because the same verse tells us that He was “in an agony”. Well, then maybe it was while the Roman Soldiers were scourging Him beyond recognition (Is. 52:14). Or could it have been while He was hanging on the cross?
No, Jesus didn’t come to have fun but to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10) and to take the keys of hell and death (Rev.1:18). We need to get back to the Word of God and search the scriptures (John 5:39). Don’t rely on your church to tell you what’s right, or an elected official to legalize it, or even a friend to pat you on the back and tell you “it’s alright”. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Tim. 2:15).
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not of darkness (Luke 11:35). Remember who bears the name “angel of light” (2 Cor 11:14-for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light).

Unlikely Provisions
Well, supper is on the stove and the children are getting ready for play practice but I wanted to sit down just a second and tell you about God’s awesome provisions. He’s showing us how faithful He is in ALL things.
In July, we took a family vacation to the mountains. Had a wonderful time. We hiked every day. On one particular day, we decided to hike 2.5 miles around a lake. Nature Boy, for whatever reason, was sullen and didn’t want to go. That was highly unlike him, what with his love for all things small and scurrying. Well, it was not 10 minutes into our walk and a garter snake crosses our path. After my initial, “Ok. I’m leaving. I am NOT going on this trail!” lecture, we started again on our trek around the lake. When I say “we”, I mean “we” as in our family of eight and “JP”…named after Julian Price Lake, of course. Nature Boy had completely forgotten about his unhappiness and his previous quips of “This is going to be boring” and was very happily engaged with his new buddy, JP. They have a habit of walking faster than I, so I was at the rear of line just taking in the magnificence of being out in “wild” with God and His creation. He came tapping, as He is accustomed to doing to those eager to listen.
I was watching Nature Boy on up ahead on the trail, watching how he was taking in JP and, because of JP, now taking in the surroundings. God knew what it took to make Nature Boy happy. God, our loving creator, knows each of us. Knows our quips and qualms, what makes us tick, and what makes us happy. He knew that Nature Boy loves snakes and (now PAY ATTENTION) we hadn’t seen so much as a snake skin thus far on our vacation. Though he had looked, trekked, poked his nose into all kinds of nooks and crannies, no snakes were to be had. God sent JP just when Nature Boy needed him. *By the way, we never saw another snake the rest of our vacation.*
Around October, we started finding mice and shrews on our back sidewalk. Fresh, DEAD mice and shrews. Now, we’ve been here over 13 years and have never had a rodent “problem”. God is very thorough in His care. As I was scratching my head wondering what in the world all of these little critters were doing showing up practically in our backdoor, God showed me how He was yet again providing…for JP. Up until the weather turned cold it was fairly easy to find food for him but with the colder temperatures, the small critters hide away until spring. So far though, at regular intervals, we find a little critter simply lying at the backdoor. Reminds me of the manna that just showed up every morning. WOW. If I were a shouter, I’d have to shout on that one. God doesn’t leave us comfortless. He doesn’t forget that we have needs, wants, desires, dreams. Just as He’s taking care of a little snake that He sent specifically to cheer up His little boy, He’ll take care of me. As the economy continues to spiral downward, as the car dealerships flounder, and Wall Street takes a nose dive, I can rest in the shadow of the Almighty with full confidence that He will supply my need.
He’ll supply yours, too, if you’ll only trust in Him…..
